Singha Premiership Rugby 7s returns to North East
Now into its sixth year, the tournament is the only 7s competition in which all 12 Aviva Premiership Rugby clubs take part and will also see rounds staged at Gloucester Rugby’s Kingsholm Stadium and Wasps’ Ricoh Arena.
As in 2014, Welsh Rugby’s four professional regions will also be part of the tournament with the date and venue of the Welsh group to be announced in due course.
Newcastle Falcons Managing Director Mick Hogan said: “We’re delighted to play host to the Singha Premiership Rugby 7s for the second year running and are really looking forward to seeing Kingston Park host an exciting summer’s evening of rugby.”
“We had a fantastic event last season, helped by our friends at Darlington Mowden Park and I am sure anyone who has seen a Falcons home match this year will be excited about seeing 7s on our 3G synthetic pitch.”
“Hosting the event gives us a chance to defend our group title and stake a calim for a finals spot in front of our fantastic fans who I am sure will help us deliver the best round yet of this competition which has become a key part of the summer. The 7s is also included as part of the 2015/16 Season Ticket membership which should helps us get a big crowd in.”
