Tickets for the 2015 Singha Premiership Rugby 7s Series have gone on sale today, including the Group C tournament that is hosted at Kingston Park, on August 22nd.

The Falcons will be looking to maintain their enviable record in the group stage of the competition, which has seen them win all four of the legs they have contested.

Being held as a late afternoon event for the first time, in order to avoid a clash with the England v France international later that evening, the Falcons are hoping to exceed the 7,057 spectators that attended last year’s event at Darlington Mowden Park’s Northern Echo Arena.

Tickets start from £10 for adults in the South Terrace and the West Stand ends, while in the East Stand and centre sections of the West Stand, adult tickets are priced at £20. Under 16s in all areas cost just £5 per ticket.

Tickets to the Group C tournament are included in 2015/16 season ticket memberships with supporters entitled to one ticket per season membership.

Speaking ahead of the launch of ticket sales, academy manager Mark Laycock, who coached the Falcons to three of their four group stage wins to date said: “Last years’ event was a fantastic occasion with a really good crowd and it was a good entertaining evening with the rugby and we’re looking forward to another big event with another bumper crowd with lots of stuff going on off the pitch and around the pitch, around the games to make a real event.”

“From a rugby side of things it’s a good showcase for a lot of the younger lads to play in front of what will be probably the first big crowd they’ll have played in front of and the first time in front of the T.V. cameras too which helps their development.”

“We’ll hopefully make it 4 from 5 tournament wins but we’ll definitely put on a good show in front of a home crowd. Year on year the competition has been getting tougher and tougher as teams are taking it more and more seriously which again adds to the excitement of it.”

“With a lot of interest in the game building in the run up to Rugby World Cup, the sevens is good chance for rugby novices to get an introduction to the basic principles of what rugby is in an easier way to understand in a shortened version of the game.”
