Six Falcons in International Action on Saturday

Newcastle Falcons players are again in international action this weekend, with six of the the club’s squad lining up for their respective countries in the Pacific Nations Cup and Rugby Championship.

In the early hours of Saturday morning, Alesana Tuilagi remains as part of the Samoan team looking to build on their opening weekend victory in the PNC over the USA.

Taking on Fiji in Sacramento, Tuilagi has been in fine form in his last two tests and will be looking to continue in that vein as Samoa look to take the top spot in their pool away from Japan.

In the second game at Bonney Field, prop Eric Fry is expected to feature for the joint hosts, as they face Japan, while in Burnaby, British Columbia, scrum half Sonatane Takulua and new signing Nili Latu both start for Tonga against Canada.

Back row forward Uili Kolo’ofai will also have a place on the bench for this game, as the Tongans attempted to bounce back from their first week 30-22 loss to Fiji.

Meanwhile in the Rugby Championship, centre Juan Pablo Socino will earn his first full cap for Argentina, as Los Pumas take on Australia in Mendoza.

Socino enjoyed an impressive debut season for the Falcons and made two appearances for the national team against the French Barbarians in June.

Impressing further in those two games, he secured a place in the train on squad for the Rugby Championship and will line up at inside centre for his first full international bow.
