Springbok Snyman Added to Legends Line Up

Currently settled down in Colorado, America where he coaches the Glendale Raptors in Denver, Snyman was a centre and winger who earned almost forty Test caps for his national side South Africa between 1996 and 2006.

Although a South African national, Snyman is no stranger to the North of England. After missing out on 2003 Rugby World Cup selection he made the move over to England where he enjoyed a successful stint at Leeds Tykes.

Snyman is probably most remembered for his intercept try in the victory over Bath during the 2004-05 Powergen Cup Final.

After the prospect of making the 2007 Rugby World Cup side, Snyman left Leeds to join Perpignan. However, visa problems cut his two year contract short and saw him return to Leeds again to play under current England Head Coach, Stuart Lancaster.

Snyman will now join the Southern Hemisphere XV at the Falcons’ Legends game on Friday 2nd October at Kingston Park, the night before the Springboks face Scotland at St James’ Park.

The match, held as part of the Falcons’ Rugby World Cup 2015 celebrations, will pit a team of former Falcons Legends against an all-time Southern Hemisphere XV.

Tickets for the Legends game start at £10 for adults with all junior tickets costing £5, and are available to book now online, in person from the Kingston Park Stadium Box Office or by calling the Falcons 24 hour Ticket Hotline on 0871 226 6060.
