The 22-year-old scored four tries in 15 games as the Falcons marked their return to the Gallagher Premiership.

That takes his overall stats to 12 tries in 36 games for Newcastle, with the Teessider having recently signed a new two-year deal to remain in the North East.

Durham University graduate Stevenson was selected for the team by Channel 5 pundit and former England international David Flatman, who unveiled a star-studded side.

Flatman said: “Ben Stevenson is el rapido – but he’s more than el rapido. I reckon we’re going to see this guy playing international rugby within the next 18 months.”
