Stratstone Land Rover take golf day spoils

Newcastle Rugby held its annual Golf Day last Thursday, with the event raising valuable funds in support of the Newcastle Rugby Foundation.

Held at Matfen Hall on a course that provides an enjoyable challenge for golfers and is rated as one of the finest in Northumberland, teams of four took to the greens for a good day of competition.

With the Newcastle Rugby Foundation serving as an umbrella identity of the community work of both the Falcons and Newcastle Thunder, the club’s were represented by chairman Semore Kurdi and Thunder first team players Vincent Rennie and Aaron Teroi.

Following the completion of the day’s sport, Stratstone Land Rover emerged top of the pile, taking the honours at the presentation ceremony held in the Keepers Lodge club house.

Newcastle Rugby partnership manager and event organiser Amy Kirsopp said: “We’re very grateful to Matfen Hall for hosting this year’s golf day and helping us hold an extremely enjoyable event.

“It is a big opportunity to raise valuable fund for the Newcastle Rugby Foundation and this year proved to be no exception so it was brilliant to see so many of our club partners turn out in support.”
