This year’s annual Christmas Concert from Newcastle Falcons’ charity partners Teenage Cancer Trust is set to be the biggest and best in the North East when it is held at St Nicholas Cathedral on 18 December.

Along with the traditional Christmas carols and readings the event will include performances from chart topping X Factor finalist Amelia Lily and a performance from Britain’s Got Talent winner Jai McDowall along with the Teenage Cancer Trust North East band.

Also appearing at the event will be:

– Emmerdale’s Chelsea Halfpenny
– BBC Radio Newcastle’s Charlie Charlton
– North East soul singer Glen Roughead
– Comedian and poet Kate Fox
– ITV’s Ian Payne
– Blue Peter’s Helen Skelton
– ITV Vera’s Davis Leon

Tickets for the concert cost only £10 each or £30 for a group or family ticket for four and are available from the Newcastle City Hall Box Office.

This year’s concert will also include the first live performance by The Teenage Cancer Trust Band.

The Trust’s North East Board has worked with a Teenage Cancer Trust ex-patient, Melissa Cavanagh together with Marty O’Nions and Phil Martin of Notes Studios in North Shields to write a song with the patients from the Trust’s two Newcastle units.

The song, ‘Here We Stand’, will be released as a single this Christmas to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust, and also performed live at the Cathedral during the Christmas Concert.

Teenage Cancer Trust is also inviting businesses and individuals to help fulfil a funding wish by making a donation to the Trust through their Twelve Days of Christmas Wishes campaign.

Over the twelve days of this Christmas, Teenage Cancer Trust will mention each business or individual that has made a donation for that day over their website as well as Twitter and Facebook.

Teenage Cancer Trust has over 52,000 followers on Twitter and over 78,000 likes on Facebook.

Local businesses and individuals can help by agreeing to donate to this rather than send Christmas cards to clients or to colleagues within the office.

If enough donations to the campaign are received, a special rendition of The Twelve Days of Christmas will be performed at the concert on 18 December which will mention all of the businesses and individuals that have made donations.
