The stat cave: Top offloaders and line-breakers
The Falcons were promoted straight back into the Gallagher Premiership after a campaign which saw them winning all 15 of their Greene King IPA Championship games.
Drilling down into the detail of some of the matches which handed them an 18-point lead at the top of the table, a number of key players get their share of the limelight.
Top of the charts for number of ball carries was back-three star Tom Arscott, who carried 95 times during the league programme – five more than George McGuigan and nine more than Samoan stepper, Sinoti Sinoti.
Arscott sits fourth in the number of line-breaks made over the course of those 15 games, with Adam Radwan leading the way on 14. Sinoti and Johnny Williams occupy the second and third spots respectively, with Callum Chick the top forward line-breaker on six.
Back-row comrade Will Welch was the top offloader in Championship action after getting the ball away on 12 occasions, Arscott sitting in second on nine, tied with George Wacokecoke and ahead of Michael Young and midfield man Williams.
