Premiership Rugby today launched their ‘Definitive Guide to The LV= Cup’. The competition kicks off this weekend with the 12 Premiership Rugby teams and the four Welsh Regions battling it out to claim the first silverware of the rugby season.

Following a sell-out LV= Cup Final at Sandy Park this year – a game which saw Exeter Chiefs lift the trophy for the first time – the competition climax will head to Franklin’s Gardens on 22 March and this Guide will give you the lowdown on a crucial club competition for England and Wales.

Click [here][1] for a digital guide with all you need to know about the competition which gives future rugby stars the opportunity to stake their claim for first team and international action. George Ford, Jonny May and Jack Nowell have all made their way from starring in the LV= Cup to international honours in the last three years.

The guide includes previews of each pool, how the fixtures will play out, details of the historic final venue widely recognised as one of the country’s best places to watch rugby, the history of the competition so far, how aspiring journalists can enter the LV= Young Reporter competition to win a host of great prizes including the chance to interview LV= Ambassador and former England Captain, Lewis Moody at the LV= Cup Final and the LV= Breakthrough Player Award.

Many of the top players currently playing in the league started off by playing in the LV= Cup and each player will get the chance to pick up the LV= Breakthrough Player Award. Find out which players have featured in the LV= Breakthrough Player shortlist in the past and predict who will shine this season.

After each round, the analysts at Opta look at the performances of every under-23 player with the forward and back with the best statistics, along with two players who have outstanding overall competition statistics forming the 10 player shortlist who’ll face the public vote. Fans will get to vote on their 2014-15 LV= Breakthrough Player from this shortlist following Round 4 of the competition.

With some mouth-watering derbies on the cards in all of the rounds it promises to be an exciting season for the LV= Cup.
