Tuilagi hoping to gatecrash Irish’s party
Forming the opposition for the host’s renowned St Patricks Party match, Tuilagi is keen for the side to turn in a performance akin to that in the pair’s meeting in the LV= Cup and take a win on the road as the Exiles did back in September.
And after a three week gap since there last match, the winger believes the team are well placed to do that.
“We’ve had a good couple of weeks of training this week and last, which has been really good preparation for what is a really big game on Saturday.”
“We have been there before twice this season and won the last game which was in the LV= Cup so we know how to play them, we just need to make sure we do that this weekend.”
Having faced each other twice already this season, the two sides are well acquainted but, rather than looking to make changes to game plans and style to keep the opposition guessing, the Samoan says the Falcons just need to stick to what has seen them make huge strides in performance this season.
“We need to stick with the same kind of game, they beat us in the first one at Kingston Park, which was the second game of the year and I think we let them take that win off us and want to return the favour this weekend.”
“It a big weekend for Irish, they are celebrating St Patrick’s Day and it is good timing for us to play good rugby. I think if we want to take the points, we are going to have to work hard to match them in the forwards and then play well in the backs but I think we can do that.”
Saturday’s game marks the start of the end of season run in for the Falcons and for those not part of the bumper crowd at the Madjeski the club will be providing full text updates via its official feed and via the clubs official app.
