ULTIMATE RUGBY TEAM COMPETITION UPDATE

Tuesday 04 February 2014 Written by: Adam

More than 20 schools and clubs have already signed up to take part in the competition which gives one organisation the chance to be an Aviva Premiership club for a week.

The club or school that sells the most tickets for either one of the forthcoming Aviva Premiership clashes with Northampton Saints or Leicester Tigers will scoop the prize.

Harrogate have already sold 50 tickets so far with fellow Yorkshire club Beverley RFC and Gosforth RFC in a close second and third respectively. Both games are selling extremely well and bumper crowds are expected for each as the Premiership finalists come to town.

Receiving a training session from the main man himself, Dean Richards, the winning organisation will be treated like a pro for the week before running out onto the hallowed Kingston Park turf to play a match against their chosen team at the weekend.

This exclusive, money can’t buy prize includes all the hallmarks experienced by a modern day professional rugby player.

As well as getting two training sessions from the Falcons coaching team and selected players in the build-up to the match, the video analysis department will also be on hand to provide expert advice to the next Mike Blair and Mark Wilson of the future.

Not only that, the match day experience will be the ‘real deal’ with BT Sport style pre-match and post-match interviews taking place with players and coaches alike, while stewards, a tannoy announcer, scoreboard operator, team sheets, a video of the game and a photographer will all be supplied on the day.

And if that wasn’t enough, the home team will have the honour of wearing the full Newcastle playing strip from the 2013-14 season which they can keep after the game. Both teams will have sole use of the home and away dressing rooms before strutting their stuff on the big stage.

Like a real match day, hospitality will be available in the corporate suites before the game.

The club’s media manager will write a detailed post-match report with pictures for the website, Facebook and Twitter.

Selected Falcons players will be available on the big day to assist with coaching the home team.

There are also prizes for coming second and third in the competition, with the second place team receiving a training session at Kingston Park led by the Falcons coaching staff plus six Gilbert match balls from the 2013-14 campaign.

Third prize is 30 tickets to the opening Falcons game of the 2014-15 season.
