To co-ordinate the coaching and development of the Newcastle Thunder college programme, the Newcastle Rugby Foundation women’s dual-code programme and Thunder’s player development programme. Actively recruit players and develop the programmes to ensure all participants maximise their potential both on and off the pitch.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

* Organise and deliver an effective recruitment strategy for both Newcastle Thunder College programme (age 16-18) & Newcastle Rugby Foundation women’s dual code college programme.

* Plan a full college programme to include games, training and any other activities.

* To lead on the development of women’s and girls’ college rugby across the North East.

* Promote and develop effective relationships with community clubs and schools to increase awareness of the Newcastle women’s rugby player/coach pathways.

* Develop and deliver a comprehensive coach development programme to upskill coaches/teachers from across the North East.

* To support key Newcastle Thunder and Newcastle Falcons initiatives to increase attendances.

* Support the delivery and development of holiday coaching camps.

**KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS**

* Actively recruit a new cohort of players each year for Newcastle Thunder’s college programme (16-18 years old).

* Actively recruit a new cohort of players each year for Newcastle Rugby Foundation women’s college team (16-18 years old).

* Fully planned and delivered player development programme engaging coaches from across the region.

**ESSENTIAL**

* Enthusiasm and passion for developing rugby and individuals.

* UKCC Level 2 Award in coaching rugby league and rugby union (or equivalent).

* Experience of coaching a wide variety of social backgrounds, ages and ability levels.

* Excellent communication and organisation skills with an ability to manage own workload.

* Ability to work as part of a team and meet organisational demands.

* Ability to create and maintain strong working links and relationships.

* Ability to work to a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

* Ability to work independently.

* Self-motivated, organised, enthusiastic and honest.

**PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES**

* Current UK driving licence.

* Access to a car.

**DESIRABLE**

* Experience of playing/coaching rugby league and rugby union at college level.

* Educated to degree level in a relevant field.

* Salary: £18k to £20k dependent on experience.
