Vea out to challenge for starting spot
Newcastle Falcons new prop Taione Vea is itching for the new season to get under way and to challenge for the right to start for his new club.
Vea arrived at Kingston Park following a summer move from London Welsh and after missing the end of the Aviva Premiership season through injury, is eager to get back out onto the field.
Speaking to the club’s Youtube channel, Vea said: “There was a slight injury near the end of the season, so it’s been a while but I’m looking forward to getting out there.”
With two season’s worth of Aviva Premiership experience, following stints with both Welsh and Wasps, the six times capped Tongan international is hoping to stand out over pre season as he competes for a starting berth in the side.
“I looking to nail down a spot, there is a bit of competition there with Welshy and Scotty Wilson so I know I need to do my stuff of the field so I can get a chance to do it on the field.”
