VIDEO: Santiago previews Anglo-Welsh kick off
Santiago Socino says the Newcastle Falcons squad are excited and ready for Saturday’s Anglo-Welsh Cup opener, as the side travel to the Ricoh Arena to face Wasps.
The 25-year-old has enjoyed an impressive start to season 2017/18, making five appearances in the Aviva Premiership, including a first start away to Bath back in September and is back into the number two shirt for Saturday’s 3pm kick off.
Speaking to Falcons TV, the Argentine hooker says while the game provides a tough prospect, it will still be a good way to start the domestic cup campaign.
Socino said: “The squad that we have out there is really strong and we’re all really eager to get out playing and get some game time. It is going to be a tough one against Wasps away, but I think we are ready to go there and do a job and then again a week later against Cardiff at home. We are really excited and really positive about it.
“We know what we want to do and how we are going to play and we are ready to go. A tough one like that one away in Coventry to one of the top teams in the league, I think it is going to be a good one.”
