The Falcons are looking to head into the start of the 2016/17 European season by taking a third Aviva Premiership Rugby win, while Andy Robinson’s side head to the North East in search of a first victory of the season – the full-back expecting a tough test from the Ashton-Gate-based side.

Speaking to Falcons TV, Hammersley said, “Bristol have had it pretty tough playing a lot of good teams so far, and maybe haven’t hit their best game yet.

“They have a big pack with a few good players in the back row like Lam and Crane, who are really dangerous if you let them get into their game. Backs-wise they’ve got a pretty pacy back three with Varndell and Edwards.

“Tusi Pisi is both mercurial and can make something from nothing, so we are going to have to be on our A game to get another win here.”
