VIDEO: Socino previews visit of Saints

Juan Pablo Socino says execution will be key when Newcastle Falcons host Northampton Saints this weekend (KO 3 pm) and that recent good form in the league against Jim Mallinder’s side, is not a laurel being rested on.

The centre, who has played all but eight minutes of the club’s Aviva Premiership campaign to date, says he and his team-mates aren’t getting carried away after recording to consecutive league wins over the Saints in 2016 and will be focused on “doing things right.”

Reflecting on November’s 16-22 win with Falcons TV, the Argentine centre said: “I think it came from doing what we said we were going to do. We analyse teams and try to put a tactic and a game plan together and it is about executing it to a tee.

“We’ve been looking at those games, but only in the context of what we did to get them. We don’t want to be over excited, we did it because we played well, but we just want to make sure we do the things right and do what we have practised on the weekend.”

With five tries in the bank already this season, the 28-year-old heads into Sunday as the club’s joint top try scorer for the season and while he enjoys grabbing the points for the club, he retains his focus on the overall goal.

He added: “I always enjoy scoring! Everyone does! I don’t really keep track of it, I enjoy it most when it helps us get a result, there’s nothing more frustrating scoring a try and then losing a game because it feels a bit worthless.”
