Ward Hadaway Touch League reaches a climax
The eight-week-long competition saw more than 300 men and women forming 24 teams, the highest total in five years.
Over 1,450 tries were scored in 600 games, with finals night seeing the teams split into different competitions based on where they had finished in the round-robin league table during the previous seven weeks.
Top prize went to The Vests (pictured) for the fourth year running, with the team finishing the season unbeaten.
The Shield went to Pablo Escoballs, with Run Chicken Run taking the Plate. Ward Hadaway Corinthians were the Trophy winners, with Goodgym Newcastle winning the Bowl.
Newcastle Falcons would like to thank Ward Hadaway for supporting the competition for the third year running, the company having entered teams in it for 17 straight summers.
The Ward Hadaway Summer of Touch continues on Saturday August 3 with the Beach Touch Festival at Tynemouth. Email **gavin.beasley@newcastle-falcons.co.uk** for details.
There will also be a new monthly touch league launching in September. Again, email **gavin.beasley@newcastle-falcons.co.uk** to receive information about the new competition.
