Watson assumes ERCC try scoring lead
Marcus Watson’s European exploits against Enisei STM on Sunday, propelled the Falcons winger to the top spot of both the try scoring and meters made charts of the European Rugby Challenge Cup, after an impressive bow in the competition.
Four tries from the former England 7s man against Enisei were enough to put him top of the tree after the opening rounds, while the attacking ambition showed allowed Watson to make the most meters of any player at 255.
The competition has also allowed the club as a whole to assume the lead on the number of clean breaks (35), defenders beaten (62), metres made (1,232) and successful passes (440)
With an impressive performance part of the continuing journey back to the full 15 a side game, Watson is hopeful that he can continue to progress and stake a claim for further involvement.
