Wilson aiming for winning start
The 3pm kick-off at Sixways sees the Falcons going for successive away wins following last weekend’s 18-13 triumph at Gloucester, Wilson named on the bench after rejoining his home town club from Bath.
The 44-times-capped England prop said: “Worcester have got a quality forward pack, and that is where it will be won and lost.
“They have a good set-piece, they are alright around the park, they drive their line-outs and it would be awesome to go down there for back-to-back away wins.
“Ultimately they will be targeting us hard as a home game against a side who were near the bottom last season, so it is a massive challenge, but we go down there full of confidence. We have nothing to lose, we just need to perform well and if we play like we did at Gloucester we will give ourselves a chance.”
Wilson’s Falcons are up against a Warriors side captained by a familiar face in former Newcastle skipper Phil Dowson, the tight-head saying: “It’s always good to see familiar faces like Dows kicking about in the Premiership.
“He was here a long time ago, some of those boys have spread out all over the place in terms of where they are playing now but it’s always good fun to play against them.”
Falcons fans can watch today’s game live on the big screen in the 1877 Bar at Kingston Park Stadium in an event organised in conjunction with the Supporters Club.
