WILSON READY FOR EXILES TRIP

Wilson and co travel to London Irish for Sunday’s Aviva Premiership clash at the Madejski Stadium knowing a victory will all but secure the Falcons’ top-flight status.

“The club have made some really great signings for next season and we want to make sure that we have built momentum for next season,” said Wilson.

“That’s the most important thing for us – to finish this season as strong as we possibly can and finish with a good run to take into next season,” he added.

Dean Richards’ men have already defeated the Exiles on two occasions this term in both the Aviva Premiership and LV= Cup.

The Kendal-born powerhouse, 24, is hoping to make it three in a row in Berkshire this weekend, saying: “We’ll take a good feeling from those wins and hopefully we can use it to give us a boost for our remaining games.

“It has been a really frustrating season for us because if you look at our results it could have been a completely different story quite easily.

“We performed well against Leicester and in the second half against Gloucester away as well. There are so many games that we could and probably should have won.

“We were leading against Gloucester at home and lost that one when we should have won then the game at Harlequins as well that we were winning in the last few minutes and lost.

“Then there was Worcester as well so it has been really frustrating. We just have to park it, we’ve had a week off and we’ve come back training refreshed and looking to finish the season strongly.”
