Wilson says crowd can help push Falcons home
The back-row forward and his side are four points ahead of the Exiles going into the final three rounds, Wilson saying: “It has been built up as being a big game – rightly so.
“With the gap at the bottom there is no getting round the fact it is a big game, but it is exciting to be playing in big occasions. There is a lot on the line, guys want to play in important games and the buzz among the players is huge. The atmosphere in the ground will be huge and the lads are looking forward to that.
“Kingston Park is a great environment when it’s full or thereabouts. The South Stand in particular, but all the stands are passionate about the club. It gets noisy, that’s what we like and we want to repay that support by putting on a good performance and getting the win.”
Confident his side are in the right mental and physical shape, Wilson said: “There has been an edge all week in training. The players who aren’t selected have played their part in really helping and pushing us, making sure we are on our mettle. Sunday is going to be a physical contest and the quality you get out of those training sessions stands you in good stead.
“It’s the team which sticks to its game plan the most, doesn’t go off-script and tries to force things. It is about focusing on your job as an individual within a team, and the team which does that the most will come out on top.
“We go back to that run of home wins after the new year against the so-called bigger teams. There was nothing flashy, we just in all areas executed to the best of our ability. Our attack and defence was good, boys were doing their job and we are not asking anything extra of anyone. We are just saying to do your role, and if we do that I am confident we will win. That is all we can focus on.”
