Newcastle Falcons lock Greg Peterson, meanwhile, started for the USA in Saturday’s 20-15 victory over Canada in Vancouver.
Following the game Peterson was named in the Eagles’ Rugby World Cup squad, with the tournament starting in Japan on September 20.
Falcons scrum-half Sonatane Takulua kicked a conversion in Tonga’s 92-7 loss to world champions New Zealand, with wing Cooper Vuna on the wing for the Hamilton clash.
