100 days until 2020-21 season kicks off
Premiership Rugby have confirmed that the top-flight campaign will kick off on the weekend of November 20-22 – Newcastle returning at the first attempt after winning all of their games last season.
Dean Richards’ men will ramp up their preparations when pre-season training gets underway in the week commencing August 24.
The director of rugby has already started his summer recruitment with the signings of Argentina centre Matias Orlando, Italian lock Marco Fuser and Doncaster Knights centre Pete Lucock, with more names set to be added to that list before the big kick-off.
England flanker Mark Wilson returns from his loan spell at Sale Sharks while Nick Easter joins as defence coach, and with a number of key figures signing contract extensions a solid foundation has already been laid.
The club eagerly awaits future government guidance regarding the possibility of crowds returning to professional sporting fixtures, and will update supporters as soon as there is clarity on this vital issue.
Supporters with tickets for cancelled games from the end of the 2019-20 season are reminded that the club will contact them in the coming months with regards to their options, which include rolling over their credit for the 2020-21 season, making a donation to the club’s community foundation, helping to sponsor a player or receiving a full refund.
Supporters with tickets for cancelled games will all be contacted by the club, and do not need to do anything in the interim.
