An elongated campaign begins with the match against the Wanderers on Monday November 23rd before three consecutive home games give Falcons fans the chance to enjoy games that where high tempo and entertaining in 14/15
First up are Worcester Cavaliers on November 30th, followed by Sale on December 21st and Leicester on January 4th.
The regular season is completed with an away trip to Gloucester United on March 28th before the knock out stages take place with the semi finals on April 25th and the final a week later on May 2nd.
Working to a different timetable as a result of Rugby World Cup, Premiership Rugby’s Head of Academies and Development, Mike Hynard says this will allow excitement to build.
“We are working to a different time period this season, because of Rugby World Cup. Having a break and then the final in May when a lot of other finals will be going on means it should all add to a fantastic occasion and a great game of rugby.
“There will be good weather, hard pitches, and no excuses not to play an open and flowing match and I’d expect with no LV= Cup the level of competition will be higher than ever before.”
“I think we’ll see all clubs really buying into the Aviva A League competition, and putting both senior players and academy players into their teams, as that will be their route to playing first team rugby. So I’m very excited about what we’re going to see.”
