About us:
We are Newcastle Falcons, the only Premiership rugby team in the ‘True North’ of England. Under the new Professional Game Partnership (PGP) we have taken full control of the elite player pathway in our region and are currently re-structuring the Under 15 and Under 16 Foundation Phase (formerly known as the DPP) as we look to build for an exciting future.
We are appointing 3 x Centre Lead Coaches, 3 x U16 Coaches, 3 x U15 Coaches and 3 x Assistant Coaches to work part-time at our regional training centres from July 2025.
The successful candidates will work under Keith Robinson (Foundation Phase Manager and ACDO) to deliver an elite coaching programme to the most promising young athletes from around the region, which equates to 80 hours of contact time per year.
We are looking for people who are enthusiastic, organised and with excellent inter-personal communication skills to make a positive difference within our academy pathway at its interface with the community game.

FOUNDATION PHASE CENTRE LEAD COACH
Role: Lead all delivery and centre administration in line with our pathway principles, creating an effective talent ID and player development system with effective coaching interventions to improve individuals and provide a high-quality experience for all.
Salary and working hours: £4,000 for 125 hours/annum (evenings and weekends)
Based at: a nominated training centre at Billingham RFC, Penrith RFC or Blaydon RFC, with regular visits to Kingston Park Stadium, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE13 8AF.
FOUNDATION PHASE U15/U16 COACH
Role: Lead coaching delivery for their designated age group in line with our pathway principles and as organised by the Centre Lead Coach, delivering effective coaching interventions to improve individuals and provide a high-quality experience for all.
Salary and working hours: £2,500 for 100 hours/annum (evenings and weekends)
Based at: a nominated training centre at Billingham RFC, Penrith RFC or Blaydon RFC, with regular visits to Kingston Park Stadium, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE13 8AF.
FOUNDATION PHASE ASSISTANT COACH
Role: Support delivery in line with our pathway principles, delivering effective coaching interventions to improve individuals and provide a high-quality experience for all.
Salary and working hours: £1,000 for 80 hours/annum (evenings)
Based at: A nominated training centre at Billingham RFC, Penrith RFC or Blaydon RFC.
