Aysgarth enjoy the Ultimate Rugby experience
Last season saw Aysgarth School win the Falcons first ever Ultimate Rugby prize for being the biggest group to attend our games against Northampton Saints and Leicester Tigers.
By selling bringing students, parents and staff along to a game en masse, Aysgarth won the chance to experience life as professional rugby players by receiving their own coaching session at Kingston Park from Falcons coaches and players in the build up to the match of their choice.
The school team and their supporters will then return to Kingston Park for their game, to be played against Mowden Hall School this Saturday, where they will be able to prepare on the pitch and in the first team changing rooms and will have their game recorded by the Falcons’ video analysis team.
Match day hospitality is available on the day for supporters of both teams while players and coaches will also enjoy post-match food in our West Stand players’ bar prepared by our chefs.
Aysgarth’s pre-match training session was held at Kingston Park on Thursday with help from Newcastle Falcons Community Foundation coaches and first team players.
Gordan McLelland, Aysgarth School Director of Rugby said: “This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for the boys and an experience they will always take with them in future. It is amazing to be offered such a prize and the boys are all past themselves with excitement!”
Melanie Magee, Newcastle Falcons Community Director said: “This Ultimate Rugby prize provides us with a great opportunity to showcase rugby talent from local schools here at Kingston Park.
“For many of the players involved this game will be the first time they have played in such a large venue and we hope it will inspire them to continue with their rugby education. Who knows, maybe one day we’ll see some of these players return to Kingston Park to pull on the Falcons jersey!”
The Falcons will be running another Ultimate Rugby competition very soon, watch this space for details on your chance to win!
