New Falcons signing Mouritz Botha put pen to paper on his contract with the Kingston Park club at the offices of the clubs official legal partner Wardhadaway, officially starting the latest chapter in his rugby career.

Botha’s signing was announced on August 14th and fresh from his arrival from South Africa, the England international second row headed down to the Quayside to complete formalities and conduct his first interviews as a member of the squad.

Speaking with the Falcons YouTube channel Botha said: “It’s been smooth sailing since arriving in England, I came up on Sunday, met the guys on Monday and already there’s two days work in the bag.”

“I spoke to Powelly on a few occasions and I saw Newcastle had bought the ground and I looked at the squad and it looks like a club that wants to go places and that made the decision pretty easy in the end.”
