
End-of-season awards winners
Newcastle Falcons brought the curtain down on the 2024/25 home campaign with our annual end-of-season awards presentation, held on the pitch at Kingston Park following the final whistle against Gloucester Rugby.
It’s been a challenging season on the field, but it remains important to recognise the commitment, effort and professionalism shown throughout the squad and wider club. From contributions in the community to standout moments in matches, there has still been plenty to celebrate.
Seven awards were presented on the night:

- Supporters’ Club Player of the Season
- Breakthrough Player of the Season

- Ken Lockerbie Trophy
Community Player of the Season
Awarded to Cameron Hutchison for his exceptional support of the Newcastle Rugby Foundation and its outreach work. The award was presented by Foundation CEO Melanie Magee and Chair of Trustees Iain Ramage.

Supporters’ Club Player of the Season
Presented to Murray McCallum, who has featured in every game of the campaign so far, was recognised by the Newcastle Falcons Supporters’ Club for his consistent contribution. The award was presented by The Busty Bakery, who have also generously sponsored the Supporters’ Club Player of the Month awards throughout 2024/25.

Breakthrough Player of the Season
Awarded to Micky Rewcastle, who made his first-team debut this season and went on to make 19 appearances. The award was presented by Peter Moody, CEO of club sponsor GAP Group.

Try of the Season
Voted for by supporters and awarded to Ben Stevenson for his effort against Sale Sharks in the Premiership Rugby Cup.
The award was presented by a familiar face in coach Mark Laycock.

Players’ Player of the Season
Voted for by the playing squad and awarded to Alex Hearle, who has enjoyed an excellent debut season so far in the Falcons shirt, making 23 appearances and scoring six tries.

Coaches’ Player of the Season
Presented to club captain Callum Chick in recognition of his leadership and commitment throughout his final season with the club. The award was presented by Dave Roberts, CEO of Hitachi Construction Machinery UK, a valued club partner.

Ken Lockerbie Trophy
Also awarded to Callum Chick, this honour is named after club stalwart Ken Lockerbie, who dedicated over 50 years of service to the Falcons. The winner is chosen by a panel of the club’s founding members, and we extend our thanks to them for their continued support and for joining us pitchside on the night.
