Newcastle Falcons Anglo-Welsh Cup match delivered a welcome boost to the Poppy Appeal and Army Benevolent Fund, with over £1000 being raised.

As the Falcons closest home game to Armistice Day, a two minutes silence was observed prior to the match while a wreath of poppies were laid on the half way line and representatives of the Poppy Appeal undertook a bucket collection around the ground.

Post match, the 3rd Regiment Royal Horse Artillery and 4th Regiment Royal Artillery played out a hard fought exhibition game, watched on by a strong crowd from the stadium’s East Stand.

Between the two charities, a total of £1115.78 was raised over the course of the day, as the club and its supporters dug deep and paid their respects.
