Goneva, one of three Newcastle try-scorers in their 35-27 home loss to champions Saracens, topped the Aviva Premiership ‘metres made’ chart for the third week running as both he and Bristol’s Tom Varndell raced 121 metres with ball in hand.

Goneva was joint-top with club-mate Juan Pablo Socino with 17 carries, Socino also joint-top for ‘defenders beaten’ with fellow Falcon Sinoti Sinoti on eight.

Canadial lock Evan Olmstead topped the ‘line-outs won’ category with 10 on the day, while skipper Will Welch was second in the ‘offloads’ category with three.

The season-long stats also show Newcastle players in a positive light, Mark Wilson (191) and Calum Green (185) occupying the top two places in the ‘tackles made’ chart.

Goneva is second in the ‘metres made’ category, while Sinoti and Socino are third and fourth respectively for defenders beaten.
