Falcons pushing for further crowd growth

A total of 8,061 supporters took in the Aviva Premiership clash at Kingston Park Stadium, the highest home gate for 18 months and a 56% increase on last season’s match against the same opposition.

Newcastle Falcons’ average attendances for their first four Aviva Premiership matches are now up 12.8% on the first four league games last season. That statistic is given further significance when considering the fourth of those games last year was the Christmas fixture against Bath due to the delayed start to the Premiership – the festive season traditionally seeing increased gates.

Managing director Mick Hogan said: “We had a major marketing push for Friday’s game against Exeter and it was great to see more than 8,000 supporters inside the ground.

“Our fans give the team tremendous backing and we really do appreciate the efforts they go to, but the reality is these sorts of crowds have got to become the norm, with a handful of big games targeted for sell-outs.

“There is a huge effort going on here to make sure we can move towards those kinds of numbers, and we would like to thank our supporters for the constructive way in which they are helping us towards this goal.”

Newcastle Falcons’ next home match is the Aviva Premiership visit of Harlequins on Sunday December 4. Tickets for the 3pm kick-off are available by calling 0871 226 6060 or by [**clicking here**.][1]
