FALCONS SIGN SAMOAN STAR
The 28-year-old flyer will jet into Newcastle next week and will be in contention for the Sale Sharks match on Friday 3 January.
Making the switch to Tyneside until the end of the current season, Sinoti’s former clubs include Toulon, Castres, Hawke’s Bay, Aironi, Zebre and Wellington.
Sinoti joined French Top 14 powerhouses Toulon in 2008 where he became a regular at the Stade Mayol alongside the likes of Sonny Bill Williams, before Castres came calling for his services for the 2009-10 campaign.
A spell in New Zealand with Hawke’s Bay soon followed under now Falcons head coach Peter Russell, and his impressive form for the Magpies earned him a move to Heineken Cup outfit Aironi.
Crossing the whitewash on a series of occasions for the Italian club, Sinoti pulled on the Zebre jersey the following season prior to his return to New Zealand in 2013, with Wellington capturing the potent runner.
Standing at 5ft 9’ and weighing in at just under 15 stone, Sinoti brings power, aggression and go-forward to the table.
“I’m really excited to start my new rugby journey with Newcastle Falcons and I’m eager to meet the boys and get stuck in,” Sinoti told the Falcons official website.
“I’m looking forward to the challenge of competing in the Aviva Premiership, and I hope that I can bring something valuable to the team,” he added.
Falcons director of rugby Dean Richards is delighted to get his man, saying: “Sinoti is a great signing for the club, and will bring some attacking edge to the backline as we go into a crucial run of games.
“We’ve been tracking his progress for some time now, and we are looking forward to welcoming him to Kingston Park within the next week.
“He comes to Newcastle with a lot of experience under his belt having played in the French Top 14, RaboDirect Pro 12 and Heineken Cup, and ultimately he is a great acquisition for the club.”
