The news comes when Premiership Rugby announces that BT Sport will broadcast a live Super Sunday of Aviva Premiership action during this season’s RBS 6 Nations.

Champions Leicester will travel to London Irish for the first part of the live double-header on BT Sport on Sunday 23 February, followed by Saracens hosting Exeter Chiefs at Allianz Park.

The matches take place the day after England host Ireland at Twickenham and on the first free Sunday of the Championship.

“The audience figures on BT Sport have been way above any estimation this season with the early rounds almost double what they were a year ago, so we expect this Super Sunday to be very popular amongst our fans,” said Dominic Hayes, Premiership Rugby’s commercial director.

“We always knew that Aviva Premiership Rugby was one of the most compelling competitions in the world and it’s great to have a broadcaster who shares our passion for the league.”

The latest round of live TV matches starts on Friday 7 February when Worcester Warriors entertain Leicester Tigers, followed that weekend by Northampton Saints’ trip to Sandy Park and Harlequins hosting London Wasps on Sunday.
