Fans’ forum a big hit

Held in the new 1877 Bar at Kingston Park Stadium, the open event once again saw chairman Semore Kurdi, director of rugby Dean Richards and managing director Mick Hogan taking unvetted questions from the floor.

Wide-ranging topics were brought up by supporters, Kurdi revealing among other things that the club will not be moving a game to New York this season, contrary to some media speculation.

Questioned on injuries, Richards revealed Simon Hammersley’s ACL knee ligament injury will sadly rule out the full-back for the rest of the season, while Hogan talked extensively about the match-day experience and commercial aspects of the club.

The managing director said afterwards: “Our fans’ forums are always enjoyable nights where we get to engage directly with our supporters.

“We put up the two most important people in the club in Dean and Semore, and we answer every question. It might not always be the answer everyone wants to hear, but it is so important we hold these events.

“As well as the serious business of listening to the issues which matter to supporters and putting across our own message, the forums are always a good laugh and are held very much in the right spirit. We are committed to doing at least two each season, and we look forward to the next one.”
