Hurter ready to reminisce with Legends
Former Falcon Marius Hurter admits pre match nerves have joined the excitement of turning out at Kingston Park as he gears up to play in Friday’s Falcons Legends game.
Hurter, who made a total of 110 appearances for the club over an eight year career, made his last appearance in December 2004 and was one of the first players to confirm his involvement in the game, which will raise funds for the Wooden Spoon Foundation and the Falcons Community Foundation.
“When I got the call, the Initial thoughts were ‘Great, I’ll get to go back to Kingston Park and see all my mates!!’ but now getting closer I’m thinking ‘oh man, I’ll actually have to play a few minutes!
“Having not played for a while, I’m sure how that’s going to go, maybe we older players can wear the pink, no contact shorts!”
With a total of 51 players confirmed for the game, it is not only offering a chance for fans to the see the stars of the past, but for these players to catch up and reminisce about times gone by as the city gets enveloped by the excitement of Rugby World Cup.
“I can’t wait to get to Kinston park and meet up with all the ’has beens’ though, see how everyone is doing and just having a good laugh about yesteryear. It was a special time in my life and I’m sure in others too.”
