Internship Positions Available At Falcons

Opportunities have arisen for three internships at Newcastle Falcons during the forthcoming season.

Over recent months a number of positive changes have taken place at the club, including Newcastle Rugby becoming owners of their Kingston Park Stadium and the arrival of many exciting new players to the North East.

With the Rugby World Cup on the horizon and plans now underway for the new season, it is an exciting time to be involved with rugby union in the North East.

The club are now looking to recruit three highly motivated students to fulfil the following roles:

**1. Rugby World Cup Officer Assistant**
Working alongside the Rugby World Cup Development Officer the successful candidate will work to help organise and implement Newcastle Falcons’ Rugby World Cup events, including those held in Newcastle’s official Rugby World Cup Fanzone, hosted by Newcastle Falcons and Ramside Events. A passion for events management and marketing would be advantageous to those applying for this role.

**2. Falcons Community Foundation Rugby Union Coach (Community)**
Working alongside the award winning Falcons Community Foundation Coaches, the successful applicant will have a passion for delivering rugby activity in a variety of community setting. Applicants for this position must have or be working towards Level 2 coaching award and willing to complete a DBS check.

**3. Newcastle Falcons Media and Marketing Assistant**
Working predominantly with the Falcons Academy team to write match reports and market fixtures, candidates will also assist with Falcons first team games. The successful applicant must be able to write to a high standard and should have a good knowledge and understanding of rugby.

Applicants for all three positions should:
– Be available to commit to a minimum of one day each week (preferably two) for a minimum of three months
– Be able to travel to Kingston Park Stadium
– Ideally have or be studying towards a degree or other qualification in a related subject
– Have an interest in sport, ideally rugby
– Have fantastic communication and organisational skills

While the roles will be unpaid, reasonable expenses will be paid in addition to any available CPD, training and development required.

There will also be opportunities for outstanding candidates to gain additional paid or part-time work, as well as the opportunity to work at Newcastle Falcons, Newcastle

Thunder and Rugby World Cup events in Newcastle to gain an invaluable experience for your CV.
