Jamie Hodgson signs for Newcastle Falcons
Scotland international Jamie Hodgson has joined Newcastle Falcons, with the 27-year-old signing a one-year deal with the club.
The 6 foot 6 lock arrives at Kingston Park with a wealth of experience, having made 67 appearances for Edinburgh Rugby.
Hodgson also spent part of last season on loan at Bristol Bears, making four appearances for the Gallagher PREM side.
A product of Stewart’s Melville College and born in Livingston, he has represented Scotland at U18 and U20 levels before making his senior international debut against Tonga in October 2021. He has since earned five caps for his country.

Speaking on the move, Hodgson said: “I’m really excited to be joining Newcastle Falcons.
“It’s a great opportunity and I feel like the club is heading in a really positive direction, both on and off the field.
“Playing in the Premiership is something I’ve always looked forward to – it’s a hugely competitive league with a passionate fan base.
“I can’t wait to get started and contribute to what the team is building here.”

Director of rugby, Steve Diamond said: “I’ve worked with Jamie before during our time at Edinburgh, so I know exactly what he brings to the group.
“He’s at a really good age, has great experience under his belt and is a very reliable lineout operator.
“Jamie’s also a Scotland international, which speaks to his quality, and I’m looking forward to working with him again in the new season.”
