‘JOB DONE’ AS FALCONS SEE OFF MOSELEY
12-3 up at the break, the Falcons came out for the second 40 all guns blazing, crossing the whitewash three times during a frantic 20 minute period.
Tom Catterick, Jimmy Gopperth and Ollie Stedman all got in on the act to help steer the Falcons clear of their West Midland counterparts.
“The first 20 minutes of the second-half we were outstanding,” said Falcons director of rugby Dean Richards.
> I thought we were far more clinical and ruthless in the second-half,
> and it showed in the score-line,
Running out 36-3 winners by virtue of six tries scored, Richards was pleased with his side’s backline display, saying: “Jamie Helleur and Tom Catterick played well, and everyone in the backline played their part.
“I was pleased with Michael Tait too, who played well at outside centre so there are a lot of positives to take into the Cornish Pirates game next week.”
Admitting his side’s scrummaging was not quite up to scratch, Richards said: “It was a bit disjointed which was frustrating, but on the whole it was another job done with six tries scored.
“We got the win which is pleasing, and overall I was delighted with the performance in the first 20 minutes of the second-half. “
