Memorabilia sought for new ‘1877 Bar’
The bar is named to commemorate the year the club was founded in its original Gosforth guise as the 140th anniversary approaches, and the club are seeking items of historical significance to proudly demonstrate the club’s rich rugby heritage.
The club are not asking for match shirts, but items such as programmes, photos and other similar memorabilia to celebrate both the Falcons and Gosforth eras.
Supporters prepared to donate should email mark.smith@newcastle-falcons.co.uk with details of their item(s), and ideally a photograph if possible. The club will then be in touch regarding items which are being considered for public display.
The new 1877 Bar will be situated on the first floor of the East Stand, adjacent to the Tap & Tackle, once building works are complete. It will be open to all supporters with a valid match ticket.
The existing East Stand ground floor supporters’ bar is no longer in operation due to the refurbishment, which will see new club offices and three additional changing rooms created in that space.
For Friday’s season opener against Sale Sharks the Tap & Tackle will be open on the East Stand first floor as usual to anyone with a valid match ticket.
The bar will also be serving the Falcons’ new official Greene King beer, named ‘Bonus Pint’ after a poll of supporters to decide both the name and recipe.
Tickets for Friday’s game are available by calling 0871 226 6060 or [**clicking here**][1]
