As the city of Newcastle prepares to play host to three matches of the 2015 Rugby World Cup, Newcastle’s Discovery Museum has a special request for Falcons fans and other rugby aficionados.

This Autumn the museum, based in the city’s Blandford Street, will feature a special exhibition focused on the Rugby World Cup and the history of rugby around the North East.

Featuring memorabilia from Newcastle Falcons and other local rugby clubs as well as from international players past and present who have plied their trade in the North East, the collection will focus specifically on the five teams visiting Newcastle for these year’s tournament as well as local clubs across the area.

To help add a local flavor to the exhibition, Discovery are also asking Newcastle Falcons fans for any merchandise or memorabilia they could loan relating to specific key points in the Falcons’ history.

Details of any memorabilia you have to offer should be sent to fans@newcastle-falcons.co.uk. The club will pass this information on to the museum for follow up.

The Rugby World Cup 2015 exhibition will run at Newcastle’s Discovery Museum from 8th August until mid-November with opening times and further details still to be confirmed.
