NOTTINGHAM REACTION WITH FALCONS TV
The result sets-up a semi-final showdown with Bedford Blues at Goldington Road, and Falcons boss Richards was pleased with his side’s ‘relentless’ display.
“I was very pleased with the performance, and the most important thing was the fact that we were relentless in attack and stuck to what we said we were going to do during the week,” Richards told **Falcons TV**.
“I thought Tom Catterick showed again why we rate him highly, and I thought it was one of Jimmy Gopperth’s better games.
“Mark Wilson also had a solid game, as did some of the players coming off the bench such as Michael Mayhew and Scott Wilson.
“Scott’s 40-yard break through the middle was absolutely fantastic, and you don’t see that often from a prop.
“All in all it was a good all-round performance,” added Richards.
MacLeod, who picked up the man-of-the-match champagne for the fourth time this season following Friday’s game, admits he is happy with his current form going into the end of season play-offs.
Capped 24-times by Scotland, the 34-year-old was in sublime form once more, demonstrating his expertise at the line-out as well as his skills with ball in hand.
“I don’t know what is happening with all of these man-of-the-match awards,” said the jovial Scot.
He added: “It’s been a good season and we are playing some nice rugby at the moment – we just want to build on the performances that we have been showing of late.”
