Nathan was promoted into Newcastle’s senior academy in the summer of 2022, having been capped by England Under-18s during the 2021-22 season.

He has played for Gosforth Academy, Whitley Bay Rockliff and Northumberland, and made his England 7s debut in June 2022 in the Rugby Europe Sevens Trophy Series in Zagreb, Croatia.

Greenwood marked his Newcastle first-team debut with a superb try away to Wasps in Premiership Rugby Cup action in September, and finished the season by playing in four tournaments for Great Britain 7s – appearing in the Los Angeles, Vancouver, Toulouse and London legs of the World Sevens Series.

The 2023-24 season saw him playing for Newcastle in South Africa as they took on the Lions in EPCR Challenge Cup action, as well as running in the tries for Darlington Mowden Park on dual registration in National One, before agreeing a one-year contract extension.

In 2024-25 he added another three tries to his tally, making six appearances for Newcastle.
