Premiership Preview – Harlequins

Newcastle Falcons launch into ten consecutive weeks of Aviva Premiership Rugby action this Sunday when Harlequins are the visitors to Kingston Park (KO 3pm)

Conor O Shea’s side travel to the North East sat third in the Aviva Premiership table looking to close down the gap to league leaders Saracens, who they beat in their last domestic match at The Stoop and are in good form having recently qualified for the quarter finals of the European Rugby Challenge Cup.

Having tasted victory themselves in their last home Aviva Premiership outing, the Falcons head into Sunday’s game looking to build on promising home form, that has also seen four try bonus point wins taken against Pro 12 title chasing Connacht and Top 14 contenders Brive Correze.

In their last meeting at Kingston Park, it was the hosts who finished the final day of the 2014/15 season on top as the Falcons unleashed a ruthless attacking performance to take an emphatic 37-21 win.

With the head to head between the two sides since the Falcons Aviva Premiership return 3-1 in the visitors favour, Dean Richards side will be eager to redress that balance and close the gap between themselves and the teams above them in the table.

The home support will be crucial in helping the Falcons achieve that aim after providing a visible boost to the team in the closing stages of the wins against Bath and Brive.

Tickets for Sunday’s game are still available and are priced from £15 for adult standing and £25 for adult seating.
