Pulman Group boost for Newcastle Rugby Foundation

Pulman are proud to be a North East family-owned Volkswagen Group retailer who have supported Newcastle Falcons for years, and with games currently being played behind closed doors they have been unable to take up the hospitality element of their partnership with the club.

Generously donating this to the Newcastle Rugby Foundation, they are helping to ensure that the good work of the charity can continue during the most challenging of circumstances.

The Newcastle Rugby Foundation encompasses both the Falcons Community Foundation and Newcastle Thunder Community Programme brands, working alongside the two professional clubs of Newcastle Falcons and Newcastle Thunder.

The Foundation has been able to help many of its participants throughout a difficult year via online sessions, and within educational settings where restrictions have allowed.

Head of Foundation, Melanie Magee, said: “We can’t thank Mike Pulman and his team enough for donating to the Foundation at such a challenging time for business.

“Their donation will make a real difference as the restrictions lift and we are able to get back into face-to-face support for the people in the North East and Cumbria who need us the most.”

“We are desperate to help everyone get back to playing rugby across both codes and continue to motivate, inspire and educate via the power of sport across the North East and Cumbria.

“We have been working hard to secure much-needed funding to maintain, grow and reposition some of our work in response to the affects to the pandemic.

“Following on from the Government’s latest roadmap announcement we are excited to get back to help our communities to re-engage with society, and of course the game of rugby, as soon as possible, something that can only be done with the fantastic support of companies like Pulman.”

Mike Pulman said: “We’re delighted to be able to support the Newcastle Rugby Foundation and the fantastic work they do within the community.

“From online learning to health and wellbeing, the Foundation delivers a fabulously diverse range of programmes and activities to youngsters regardless of their background or ability.

“The education, motivation, inspiration and passion that sport and rugby has given us is a testimony to how valuable an asset we have in not only the North East, but in the whole of the country.

“Keep up the fantastic work!”

Alongside North P&I, Pulman have also become the second company to join the Newcastle Rugby Foundation’s Corporate Social Responsibility Club. Any other businesses seeking further information should email melanie.magee@newcastle-falcons.co.uk .
