RICHARDS HAILS RUTHLESS DISPLAY

Newcastle Falcons put the Welsh outfit to the sword with 15 tries to underline their credentials as potential cup winners.

“We were clinical in our performance and that was the pleasing thing for me,” said Richards, who has now guided the Falcons to 15 wins out of 15 in all competitions.

He added: “I think that’s what upset us about last week’s game as for 30 minutes we were clinical, and then we let our standards drop.

“Even with the changes that we made during the game yesterday, we were still as clinical as what we were at the start.

Romping home to yet another win, the Falcons have all but sealed their place in the quarter-finals, as the feel good factor continues for rugby in the North East.

Richards said: “We have had a good start to the season but it’s important that we don’t lose our focus and take our form into the next game against London Scottish.

“The cup competition has given us the opportunity to try different things and I’m happy with the way things have been going.”

Next up for the Falcons is a home date with London Scottish this Sunday in the RFU Championship (kick-off 3.15pm).
