RICHARDS RELISHING SAMOAN STAR IN ACTION

The Samoan international winger landed in Newcastle on Saturday and was at the club today ahead of this weekend’s tussle with Steve Diamond’s men.

“He’s got extremely quick feet, scores tries and ultimately he’s a very physical boy,” said Richards.

“He’ll offer a great amount to the team and his mental approach to the game is spot on,” he added.

Friday’s clash with Sale Sharks at Kingston Park takes on even more significance for Newcastle after their narrow defeat to London Wasps at the weekend.

And Richards is looking forward to the visit of Sale, who themselves have made an impressive start to the campaign.

“Sale is another tough challenge for the boys, and they have had a decent set of results this term, but it’s a great opportunity for us to bounce back and get some points on the board,” said Richards.

“We need to make sure that we start the game the way that we finished the match against Wasps, and that will hopefully give us a chance of securing the win,” he added.

Will Welch’s try with the last act of the game ensured that the Falcons picked up a losing bonus point to add to their tally in the Premiership. Paying tribute to the fans for sticking with the team right to the death, Richards said: “The supporters were a big factor in our resurgence at the end, and they were superb as has been the case all season.

“There is no better sound than the roar of Kingston Park on a Friday night and we can’t wait for another game under the lights here in the North East.”

Tickets are still available for the game by calling the Falcons Ticket Hotline on 0871 226 6060 or [click here][1] to purchase online.
