Second batch of ‘Big One’ shirts up for auction
Proceeds from the online auction, minus the production cost of the shirts, will go to the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, helping to raise awareness and fund research into Motor Neurone Disease.
The first batch of online auctions were a huge success, with supporters eagerly bidding on the black and white striped shirts worn by the Falcons during their 25-22 triumph over Northampton Saints in front of a club record home crowd of 30,174.
The second wave consists six shirts, among them Tongan No 8 Nili Latu, starting full-back Simon Hammersley and starting lock Sean Robinson.
A raffle has also been set up for all supporters to stand a chance of winning the match shirt worn by hooker Kyle Cooper during the game.
Tickets are £1 each, they are on sale now and supporters can buy as many as they wish. Tickets will be on sale in the East Stand club shop every day during opening hours, and also from the West Stand club shop on match days. Supporters unable to get to the stadium can buy their tickets by calling 0871 226 6060.
Raffle tickets will be on sale until half-time in the home game against Sale Sharks on Friday April 13. The winner will then be drawn after the match in the 1877 Bar.
Will Welch’s man-of-the-match shirt has already been allocated to the Foundation Flutter, which was drawn at the St James’ Park game, while Vereniki Goneva’s match shirt is being held back for the end-of-season dinner, where it will be auctioned off.
