SOCINO RELISHING NEWCASTLE SWITCH

The 25-year-old, who tops the RFU Championship points scoring charts, has penned a two-year deal with the Kingston Park club and will join up with his new teammates in the summer.

Speaking exclusively to the Falcons official website, the Argentine centre is relishing his big move to Tyneside but insists there is still a job to be done at his current club Rotherham Titans.

“I can’t wait to play in the Aviva Premiership and it’s a dream come true, but first and foremost there is still a lot of rugby to be played at Rotherham between now and the end of the season,” said Socino, who has played a significant role in helping the Titans cement their place in the top four.

“It’s been a great season so far for Rotherham and it would be great if we could end the season on a high,” he added.

Bringing an abrasive direct attacking game to the table, coupled with his radar goal-kicking prowess, the Buenos Aires hit-man admits his switch from South Yorkshire to the North East will enhance his chances of breaking into the Argentina squad with the 2015 Rugby World Cup on the horizon.

Socino said: “My biggest dream is to be playing international rugby and I think by playing for Newcastle my chances will be much greater.

“But to get that opportunity I need to make sure that I’m playing well for Newcastle, and that will be my aim right from the start.”

Explaining his reasons for committing to the Falcons, Socino reveals director of rugby Dean Richards was a huge factor in his decision-making process.

He said: “I met Dean just before Christmas and his ambition really impressed me. He’s coached at the very highest level in the game and I’m looking forward to working under him next season.”

The Falcons’ next home game is against Worcester Warriors in the Aviva Premiership on Sunday 30 March (kick-off 2pm). Tickets are still available by calling the Falcons Ticket Hotline on 0871 226 6060 or [click here][1] to purchase online.
