Spark Radio sign on for Newcastle Festival of Rugby.
Community station Spark Radio will bring the thrills and spills of the Newcastle Festival of Rugby to the North East airwaves, after agreeing to broadcast action live.
Targeted to serve 15- to 25-year-olds, Spark carries a variety of content catering for both mainstream and niche musical audiences, specializing in chart hits and new music throughout the day, and specialist programming after 7PM.
The radio station broadcasts on 107.00FM and online via the station’s website and is run by students at Sunderland University.
Whilst broadcasting the games to a wider audience, as part of their regular sporting output, Spark will take care of the musical needs of spectators and players alike at Kingston Park Stadium, playing music throughout the day.
RED Wailers and Irish Wolfhounds are among the early confirmed entries for the Newcastle Falcons Festival of Rugby for what will be a packed day of sevens action.
Entry for all supporters is free on the day, with the winners of the men’s competitive tournament on the day progressing through to subsequent regional semi-finals, with the possibility of appearing in the national finals in June.
The Newcastle Festival of Rugby places a big emphasis on being a family event, with inflatables, music, fancy dress competitions and entertainment on the day as well as food and drink within the stadium.
