Team news: Heffernan set for debut on Friday

Friday 17 March 2023 Written by: Adam

The Kingston Park clash is a 7.45pm kick-off, with the Falcons moving to fill a gap in their Gallagher Premiership fixture schedule.

Prop-forward Oisin Heffernan comes straight in to start on the tight-head side following his midweek arrival from Northampton Saints, joining a front row alongside Conrad Cade and Ollie Fletcher.

Matt Deehan and Tom Marshall form the second-row partnership, with guest player Jae Linton packing down at No.8 after impressing with Hawick RFC.

Marcus Tiffen and Charlie Smith complete the back-row, with Welshman Josh Thomas and former Coventry scrum-half Josh Barton linking up in the half-backs.

Nathan Greenwood starts on the right wing fresh from his Great Britain 7s debut in Los Angeles, with Iwan Stephens on the left. Cameron Nordli-Kelemeti switches to inside centre, in partnership with Ben Stevenson, while England Under-20s international Louie Johnson starts at full-back.

On the bench, hooker Corbin Thunder is set to make his Falcons debut a week after landing in the country, while Ethan Riley is the second guest player from Hawick RFC to be given an opportunity.

Entry into the game is free for season ticket holders for either this season or next season.

Non-season ticket holders can watch the game for just £5 for adults and £1 for under-16s.
